May 11, 2021, 11:59 IST Peddapalli Zilla Parishad Chairman Putta Madhu who was arrested by Telangana police on May 8th was released on Monday evening. He went to Manthani. Task force police and a special investigation team from Hyderabad questioned the former MLA along with his brother Putta Satyanarayana and his friend Maddipati Srinivas Rao for many hours at the Ramagundam police commissionerate on Sunday. Police quizzed Putta Madhu on his role in the murder of Vamana Rao and Nagamani that took place on February 17, 2021 at Kalvacherla in Ramagiri mandal. Police questioned Madhu on why did he withdrew Rs 2 crore from a bank before the gruesome murder of Vamana Rao couple. The officials also questioned as what is the need for him to stay away from Manthani.

Lawyer Couple Murder Case: Putta Shailaja Issued Notice

May 10, 2021, 12:08 IST After the arrest of Putta Madhukar , Ramagundam police have issued notice to Putta Shailaja, his wife who is also the Manthani municipal chairperson, and called her for questioning at the Ramangundam police Commissionerate in connection to the advocate couple s murder case. The murdered advocate Vamana Rao’s father G Kishan Rao has levelled several allegations against the Putta couple, not just over the death of his son and daughter-in-law, but also related to certain affairs related to the local temple committee issue, and illegal construction of buildings in Gunjapadugu village in Manthani mandal of Karimnagar district. Meanwhile, Ramagundam police also sent letters to several banks seeking transaction details of 12 accounts belonging to Madhukar, his family members, Kamanpur market yard chairman P Satyanarayana, and the accused  Kunta Srinivas and Bittu Seenu who were directly involved in the double murder case.

Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that top TRS leadership was behind the murder of the lawyer couple Gattu Vaman Rao and Nagamani and also questioned the silence of the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in condemning the brutal daylight killings. He suspected the involvement of TRS-backed sand mafia behind the murder and now they were resorting to daylight murders to create a fear psychosis. Speaking to reporters here, he said the Congress party would meet Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Hima Kohli and also write a letter to Chief Justice of Supreme Court S.A. Bobde seeking a CBI enquiry on the murder.

Telangana Advocate Couple Sought Police Protection After Threats Last September Feb 18, 2021, 15:45 IST The brutal murder of the High Court  lawyer  couple Gattu Vamana Rao and Nagamani in broad daylight has sent shock waves across the State of Telangana. As per the dying man s testimony recorded by an onlooker, the advocate had named former MPTC, TRS mandal president from Manthani, Kunta Srinivas, in the attack. Police have registered a case against three people in connection with the murder of the lawyer couple. Kunta Srinivas, Akkapaka Kumar and Vasantha Rao of Gunjanipadugu village were said to be the key accused after Vaman Rao s father Gattu Kishan Rao lodged a complaint against them. Akkapaka Kumar, one of the main accused, is currently in police custody, Commissioner Satyanarayana told Sakshi. It is noteworthy that only one of the two who escaped the murder is in their custody.
