Trying to ram stuff through, you know, without due consideration, and, without support for it. chris: do you think they ve gone too far? i think i would have accepted paul ryan s initial budget which i think had serious cuts and continue if they went too far but need to understand they cannot just at some point all of the there s a lots of support for big cuts and they need to also continue making the case to the country for a that and follow through with entitlement cuts, which which he didn t commit to. and, there is a fight how far out to go on entitlements and will look ridiculous if they cut domestic discretionary spending and say on the stuff that is more than half the budget we ll be totally. chris: i want to needs to be ready to make a consistent case for why we need to relimit governments and cannot assume because they won one election everyone will be with them the next two years. but the american people know what is true, what paul ryan said, we have ....
Not to punt. and, this president has been punting and i really hope i sincerely hope he leads with the budget tomorrow and i cannot tell you what our budget will look like yet because i don t have a baseline with which to write one yet and we haven t even gotten consensus in the caucus yet. but look at what we have proposed, i have consistently introduced legislation and brought budgets to the floor that does address the drivers of our deficit and debt which is the entitlements and we expect and hope the presidents will actually lead on this crisis, debt crisis and preempt it. everybody knows the sooner you deal with it the better off everybody is. and, if the president doesn t want to lead on entitlements he s not loading and we hope and plan on dealing with these issues, but i cannot tell you exactly what we ll do and how we ll do it, because, literally we have not been able to reach consensus with each other yet, because we don t have a baseline with which to write a budget. ....
Economy. spending cuts, help us with jobs today. chris: all right, congressman, this gets confusing. the president will offer a budget for the next budget year that starts in october, 2012, this week, you guys, the house republicans are going to offer cuts in the punter budget, t budget and you, originally of the house budget chairman, propose roughly $30 billion in cuts from 2010 spending. and, under pressure from house tea party members, the freshmen, young guns, that was doubled to $60 billion. do any of these cuts double what you originally proposed, do any of them go too far? no. no. look, how great is this debate we re having in congress? a year ago, congress was debating about how much more spending to increase and now we are debating how much to cut. and what i put that when i put out the number, it was the pledge, we ll bring spending down to 08 levels the rest of ....
Features a five year freeze on spending and considerable tax increases on the wealthy. from what you have heard what do you think of the president s plan? it sounds like the similar badges he has been giving us last couple of years and last year gave us a $2 trillion tax increase, $700 billion of those tax increases enacted to the health care law and looks like he s coming back for, $1.3 trillion in tax increases, and the discretionary freeze is an extremely high base and blew spending out the gather the last two years, 24% increase in domestic discretionary spending and stimulus on top is an 84% increase and wants to freeze for a few years off the high levels, less than 1% of spending, and we ll see details of the budget tomorrow, but it looks like to me, it will be a very small on spending discipline and a lot of new spending so-called investments, look, the president is elected to lead, and to face the country s biggest challenges ....
