popular president in modern american history. nobody is impressed by joe biden, and that would be including dr. jill. so this is a big problem for the biden family, obviously, but a much bigger problem for the democratic party, which joe biden leads. unpopular presidents drag their parties to the bottom in midterm elections. that s the unchanging rule of politics. you saw it famously in 1994, with republican takeover of congress after two disastrous years with bill clinton. you saw it in 2006 after hurricane katrina. you saw it in 2010 after obamacare. you saw it in 2018. in fact, it may well happen in 2022. we re certainly praying for it. to be honest, the numbers don t show that happening. not even close. in fact, all the indications we have right now suggest that despite joe biden s well-earned unpopularity, the democratic party still again, as of tonight has a strong chance of holding congress in november. the prediction markets, which many believe are more accurate t
no one in congress seems to be asking that. no one did until marjorie taylor green decided this is worth legislating. she represents georgia in the u.s. congress, and joins us about an announcement about new legislation planning. thanks for coming on. what do you find to do about? i find this absolutely appalling, tucker. i fran congress in the first place, because i m sick and tired of the government allowing this. when it comes to gender affirm care, which is really child abuse, this is an assault and child abuse. this practice should never happen. it s so disgusting and appalling. and it s an embarrassment to our country. you see i m one of those that believes the republican party is only worth being a true party, worth deserving of the people s votes, if we are willing to stand up and stop horrific things like child abuse and like so-called gender affirming care,
faster. see, in the past especially when trump was in the white house and the doj more or less answered to him, what congress would do when they were trying to enforce the subpoena is first go to court, try to get a court order and then require the person to appear. and then if they didn t appear try to get the court to hold them in contempt. there s a way to bypass that. congress can go directly to the department of justice and say, look, this person was lawfully served with a subpoena. they either didn t show up or they showed up and didn t answer questions, so you need to consider criminal prosecution. now, those witnesses will have a defense. they can say, look, we didn t have to testify, executive privilege applies, but that would be played out in court and i think that would be a lot faster and a way to really move the investigation forward other than taking that longer step through the court process. so hypothetically these aides could wind up sitting in jail.
disbarred. he doesn t even have lawyers right now. i don t think he has real lawyers. maybe he has somebody, but most people aren t going to want to sign, you know, his legal claims because if you go into court and make these frivolous, ridiculous claims, your bar license is threatened. that s why people like bill bar and pat cipollone who i expect will testify in congress to talk about those clowns and what they suggested, but they ll not have good lawyers to be able to pull off i trust in the american people i think probably more than bill marr does. real quick, you think pat cipollone and bill barr will be talking to the january 6th committee? they ll be subpoenaed to talk. you think they will. and they ll tell the truth and it will not be flattering for donald trump. okay. i want to ask you, paul, i m going to bring you in on this conversation. there s question about whether democrats should be doing more to sound the alarm.
for san franciscans. we re proud to have built the city s recycling system from the ground up, helping to make san francisco the greenest big city in america. let s keep making a differene together. just days after the senate narrowly averted the u.s. government defaulting on its bill, senate minority leader mitch mcconnell is now telling democrats not to ask for his party s help to raise the debt ceiling next time around. on thursday congress reached a
