Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday said the administration in Pune will consider introducing some relaxations if the COVID-19 positivity rate in the city continues to be below 5 per cent in the next two days.
Maharashtra reported 51,751 new COVID-19 infections and 258 related deaths on Monday.

PUNE: Amid a rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Pune witnessed a huge crowd on Tuesday.
Abdul Qadar, a vegetable vendor, said: People are coming here to buy vegetables and fruits. That cannot be controlled. To control and manage the crowd, lockdown is the only option. We are taking precautions on our level. What else we can do? We are poor, have to earn a living. We cannot afford to sit back at home from the fear of Corona.

PUNE: The BJP held a protest on Saturday demanding resumption of municipal transport bus services as a 6 pm to 6 am curfew began in Pune in a bid to tackle a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
Pune BJP MP Girish Bapat and Pune BJP president Jagdish Mulik led the party s protest in front of the PMPML bus depot at Swargate, police said, adding that they were detained and released some time later.

Pune: Pune s Mayor Muralidhar Mohol on Tuesday said there was no plan to impose a complete COVID-19 lockdown in the city. However, the Mayor said they have increased screening and testing to contain the fresh surge.
Speaking to ANI Mohol said, We have made micro containment zones, increased screening and testing. I don t think imposing a complete lockdown is necessary right now.
