Lets go to meteorologist bill henley. The excessive heat warning is still in effect right . The first alert is still in effect because of the high heat and the very high humidity and the potential for strong storms later today. The showers and thunderstorms already showing up on the radar. This morning im tracking a few on isolated showers moving through Lancaster County and the pottstown area light rainfall there. The line of storms for this afternoon is already in western pennsylvania and moving our way. Before it gets here another hot and humid day. We are starting off in the upper 70s for philadelphia northeast philadelphia just dropped down one degree from 80 and still in the 80s in doylestown and pottstown. Construction on an off ramp off the schuylkill expressway. Around Spring Garden street you can see right here road closed signs. We have no access to the schuylkill expressway westbound from the Spring Garden ramp. Eastbound access is okay. They do have local detours posted around the area. This will be out there until at least august 4th for right now. They are going to have to plan your trip accordingly. If you dont follow the local4z stbound 13 minutes from the blue route up towards the vine street expressway. Pretty much the same going westbound towards the king of prussia area as well. 202 cars are green and moving. 11 minutes northbound or southbound up towards the schuylkill expressway. This afternoon. The threat tracker shows that there is moderate threat of any kind of localized flooding or lightning. The highest threat is for highs, strong gusty winds. A severe thunderstorm watch out already. This is the line of showers back in central pennsylvania that is approaching. This is the excessive heat warning today and tomorrow. Once the line of showers comes through thats it for the dangerous heat at least for several days. 86 right now. Wilmington, dover, millville, georgetown, a lot of places in the mid 80s. The humidity is high. It already feels like its getting close to the mid 90s. Weve got at least a couple more hours of heating. Back to the north and west showers are going to come in before we get a chance to have that feels like temperature triple digits. We have a lot of rain and showers and thunderstorms. And then it comes through the area so just about everybody is going to get rain. And then everybody is going to get significant relief from the high humidity
