During a work session this evening, board chair chris tuck presented information about Erica Williams attendance and past evaluations of her former employees. There have been a lot of questions surrounding her decision to not rehire 4 people after she was reelected. Since then there have been a lit of back and forth between county leaders. Tonight, they voted to eliminate her supplemental pay from the county. That money would have been in addition to the roughly 120,000 she recieves from the state. Some residents spoke in support of williams saying the county do. But county leaders decided to move forward with eliminate williams supplemental pay. As you can see behind me, crews are still on kennon drive, as they have been all day, working to repair multiple power poles and multiple power lines. Were pretty lucky. Id say were lucky. Lucky because the storm couldve been much worse. Around 750 people in danville lost power as a result of yesterdays storm, but now only about 150 are still without power. The city says the biggest concentration of outages came this morning when around 500 people lost power due to a problem at the piney forest substation. The damage is extensive. And today. Families. Emergency crews. And volunteers are lending their support to those in need. A city in celebration after the announcement this morning of charges being filed against the six officers involved in freddie grays death, people here have been taking to the streets and expressing their satisfaction and their relief because so many here say they believe the whole process would be ground to a halt and they would not see justice served but this development, they say they all understand is just the very beginning. But it is a positive step forward. Were just hours away from the curfew being set in this town. Everything here is supposed to the streets are supposed to be cleared by 10 00 p. M. Tonight.
