Oregon reports 928 cases, one death The Oregon Health Authority has reported 928 new cases of COVID-19. It has reported one new death, an 88-year-old man from Josephine County who tested positive April 9 and died April 27 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. He had underlying conditions. That brings the state’s cumulative case count to 183,830, and the death toll to 2,491. Marion County reported 81 new cases, while Polk County reported 14. Cases rise for a fourth consecutive week The Oregon Health Authority’s weekly COVID-19 report shows cases rising for a fourth consecutive week. OHA reported 4,742 new cases of COVID-19 between April 12 and April 18. That’s a 27% increase from the previous week. New COVID-19 related hospitalizations rose from 156 to 171. There were 19 COVID-19 deaths reported. The report shows 24 active COVID-19 outbreaks in senior and congregate living settings. Cases, hospitalizations, deaths rise for third week The Oregon Health Authority’s weekly COVID-19 report shows cases, hospitalizations and deaths rising for a third consecutive week. OHA reported 3,722 new cases of COVID-19 between April 5 and April 11. That’s a 26% increase from the previous week. New hospitalizations rose from 150 to 156. And 47 COVID-19 deaths were reported, the highest weekly total in five weeks. Four percent of Oregonians have now been reported to have COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
