The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) have confirmed to The Kerryman that a former hotel in Kenmare is currently not being considered to accommodate refugees or asylum seekers.
More than 200 high-vis jackets have been handed out to asylum seekers staying at the former Carnbeg Hotel on the outskirts of Dundalk over fears for their safety.
