I think our justice sis tomorrow is colorblind? from texas? i m sure do you think it is colorblind! steve king says i m sorry that it was turned into a race issue by the media. i think everything you didn t know about the conversation we are having and going to have is summed up by the fact that the judge would not allow the word racial to be used. can you say profiling, but you can t say racial profiling as if it just doesn t exist. then she allows these people to go on the stand and say some other black people have invaded some other homes, what does that have to do with trayvon martin? he wasn t even that or whether george zimmerman knew that trayvon might have been obviously, he said he didn t know trayvon martin. he d never seen him before. it is a dog whistle. there was no racial profiling. such a thing does not exist. however, if he was having some type of malthoughts, it was justified. here s the problem. ....

Respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. kelly, you wrote something. i think you re going to challenge what joanne has to say about this. in the article you put out you said the most defensive reaction from them all cale from president obama. the president didn t turn it into a racial issue even though he should have because the tragedy is one rooted in race. so you think that this shows a lack of courage from the president to step in more forcefully to what this means? particularly it s not the first time. president obama you can count on one hand actually on a couple of fingers how many times he has mentioned race in this country. i understand he was not elected to be a president for black america. he was elected to be the president for all americans. but he is a black man. and there are issues that our community deals with that not all americans deal with. one of them is racial profiling and something that attorney general eric holder has eve ....

And as an african-american man, i have seen it, felt it, i ve experienced it over and over all my life. and i m 62 years old. so this was clearly in my opinion a case of profiling and i think the thing that really upsets people is that zimmerman had been told stay in his car. he gets out of his car. he makes some comments basically saying these people always get away with it, they always get away with it. so next thing you know we ve got the situation where a young man loses his life. it is very, very, very hard for the public to understand how somebody with some skittles and candy against somebody with a gun and it ends up that the zimmerman walks away with not even a misdemeanor charge against him found guilty of charge against him. and then young trayvon is dead. ....

Ironically, there was a law against racial profiling in the state of illinois done by a man named barack obama when he was a state senator. so when we look at the state laws, and we look at how they re applied, the federal government can look at the laws, but we also need to deal with the state law in florida and other states that have set up situations that come back to haunt us. it s unimaginable that you have one set of laws in florida, another in new york, another in pennsylvania. i think we ve got to discuss all of that as we deal with the outcome of this case. from my point. absolutely. what you have to look at is how is this law being applied. is it being applied, the stand your ground laws? is it the prosecutor for a case involving a white defendant or not versus that of black defendants. you want to see a discriminatory ....

This is not the end. this is just the beginning, that it s a forward march for progress and we all need to participate. and certainly, ben, you have done a wonderful job and we really appreciate the work you have done. let me just say, though, the issue that people talk about is that this is double jeopardy if you were to prosecute it. it is not double jeopardy because the federal statute has different elements and different causes of actions that apply that do not apply in state court. so you can in fact have a separate federal cause of action that is separate and apart from a state case, even if there has been an acquittal. we saw that in rodney king, and there have been a lot of other cases that i ve been involved in as well. it request be done. these issues around the federal prosecution is a challenging one. i do believe the big issue in this case was racial profiling, and the issue we ve been talking about for a number of years in trying to get the senate to do something about. b ....
