Tata-owned home appliance manufacturer, Voltas, plans to manufacture air-conditioner compressors in India with a partner from either Japan or Korea, after a previous proposal with China s Highly International was rejected by the government. The company has lined up investments of over Rs 1,300 crore for manufacturing, including expanding capacity and manufacturing newer home appliances.
