The three-story home, spanning more than 20,000 square feet, is located in Fort Missoula, and for decades served the military community as a functioning hospital.
The owners of the property at Fort Missoula on Tuesday said they're ready to apply for a demolition permit to remove the Old Post Hospital after the city denied a permit to develop housing.
Known as the Fort Missoula Commons, the proposal includes 16 new residential townhomes and two commercial buildings. The Missoula Historic Preservation Commission voted against the project in May.
The city planned on holding a public hearing Oct. 2 and a special meeting Oct. 19, but now council plans to schedule those events in January or February 2024.
