Clive Police Chief Michael Venema issued this statement: “The women and men of the Clive Police Department express our deepest condolences to the families who have children that were severely injured or killed as a result of this incident.” “Children should not die like this, and when it happens it is an unspeakable tragedy for families, friends and the community,” said Police Chief Michael Venema. “We grieve the loss of life. By Dave Bohl Jan 12, 2021 (Clive, Iowa) Clive Police are releasing the names of three teenagers killed in a high-speed police chase Monday morning. 16 year-old Emmanuel Nyariel, 14 year-old Zacharia Warsame, and 14 year-old Majok Nyariel were killed in the crash. 15 year-old Hamid Lula and 13 year-old Mohamed Elzubeir were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both remain hospitalized with serious, life-threatening injuries. Police say the chase started after an Urbandale resident reported the group of teens to police a little before 2am. Police identified their vehicle as a car reported stolen last week. Officers chased the teens at speeds reaching over 100 miles-per-hour through Urbandale and into Clive. ....
