A developer behind a controversial San Luis Valley water export plan, who hopes to sell water from the valley to water-short Douglas County and potentially other South Metro Area water users, is vying for a seat on a new water commission the county has established to evaluate future water needs.

Confluence: Colorado Water Summit, will begin at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Forge Campus in Loveland. The Forge Campus is the former Hewlett Packard facility at Taft Avenue and Colorado Highway 402 in south Loveland.
The conference will develop themes around the economic issues caused by scarcity and cost of water in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley. Water prices, availability, conservation, effects on development and more will be discussed.
