Six months after breaking ground on its $40 million Robert W. Plaster Center for Advanced Manufacturing, Ozarks Technical Community College on Tuesday touted two major donations from local entrepreneurs and their families that are going toward the project, set to open in August 2022.
Both donors gave separate six-figure sums of money, OTC officials said Tuesday, declining to disclose precise dollar counts.
In a prepared statement, donor Larry Snyder said, I’ve been on OTC’s board for more than half of the college’s existence, and the Plaster Manufacturing Center is the most important project the college has ever undertaken. ....

PITTSBURG, Kan.  The Plaster Center on Pittsburg State University’s campus is usually brimming with athletes of all sports. The volleyball team spends their time in the gyms training, while the track team practices sprints on the indoor track.  
However, in a strange turn of events, this week the Plaster center was the home of PSU’s theater department as they filmed their latest production, “The Wolves”.  
Live theatre during the COVID-19 area has been hard to achieve safely. Departments at schools and universities across the country have been forced to use their creative chops to figure out ways to still allow students to perform. For the director of PSU’s latest play and an associate professor in the Department of Communication, Gil Cooper, that meant leaning into the filming side of performing while still trying to honor the essence of live ....

A nod to four decades of successful fundraising
MSU Foundation celebrates 40th anniversary.
In fall 1980, Missouri State University established the Missouri State University Foundation to help raise more private funds.
This was a crucial need as state funding was no longer enough to cover all the university’s operational costs.
Making growth and development possible
A private organization, the MSU Foundation kicked off operations on Jan. 13, 1981, forever changing how people could give and support Missouri State. Since then, its staff members have raised more than $348 million for the university.
The money has gone to student scholarships, faculty endowments, building projects, athletics needs and other campus improvements and programs. ....
