With the phone, on sunday, malaysia s transport minister did not deny the possibility. as far as i know, no, but like i said that would be in the realm of the police. and the international agencies and when the time comes, they will be revealed. but i do not want to speculate on that at the moment. reporter: when the plane first went missing, authorities said millions of cell phone records were searched, looking for evidence calls had been made from the plane but turned up nothing. still, if hamid s cell phone connected with the tower, it only adds to the evidence that the plane turned westward from its planned path and that the plane was likely flying low enough for a cell tower to pick up the phone s signal. so, it does make me think that perhaps it was a little lower than the 35,000 feet that we spec lated because of the fact it did make the connection. typically, there s not even time to do that but they were still high enough in which it just made just made the connection ....

Moment. reporter: when the plane first went missing, authorities said millions of cell phone records were searched, looking for evidence that calls had been made from the plane, but turned up nothing. still, it only adds to the evidence that the plane turned westward from its planned paddle and that the plane was likely falling low enough for a cell tower to pick up the signal. it does make they think that it was perhaps lower than the 35,000 feet speculated because it did make a connection. typically there s not even time to do that. but they were just high enough and there were no long period of time. wolf, what this information doesn t tell us, according to u.s. officials, is a motive of who was alive and who was not at the time that the cell tower detected the co-pilot s phone. the aircraft never had a cell phone system installed. wolf? pamela brown, stay with us. i want to bring in the rest of our panel. ....

Their pilots. every six months if they are over the age of 40 they need to go through health prognosticators, health risks to figure out if they are at risk for crashing a plane in any way. kit, if this plane was in trub, if the pilots knew something was happening, mechanical failure, smoke, depressurization, whatever was happening, would this be normal behavior to may their way west. lend credence to the fact they were on the way to help. it s the bottom of the list. flying the plane first. they are in it, too. believe me they are highly motte vaded to fly the airplane and navigate it where they want it to go. doesn t surprise me at all they don t squawk or don t call. their hands are full. until that problem is under control, that s the last thing they are doing to do is talk. ....

Perhaps of a crash site, would show a plane landing at an airfield, though that is very unlikely that would not be noted. or additional radar signatures that would show it passing by any of the potentially hundreds of commercial and military traffic control radars in that regi region. but i think what u.s. officials believe about this northern track is the plane first would have had to have crossed some countries coastline with nobody noticing it on their radars. those are all countries that do have radars on their coastlines. so first it has to cross a coastline. then it has to travel perhaps some distance inside one of those countries, still not be noticed. this is one of the challenges of that hunt, officials are saying, is that logical, is that probable, where do you begin to look. that s the stuff that just doesn t make sense. how is it that so many countries could miss. one country possibly missing but ....

There is no satellite radar coverage. the airlines have been reluctant to install you need for plane s locations so when you fly across the atlantic and pacific your pilots are communicating using technology is 40, 50 years old in terms of how they do. took two years to find the wreckage of the air france plane when it crashed off the coast of brazil. could it be possible the plane was off course and they are looking in the wrong place? possible, but unlikely. a lot of people say why wasn t there a distress call or why wasn t there anything? why isn t there debris. fly the plane first, figure out where you are and then talk to somebody. if you have some emergency that occurs, it would be normal okay, but if you re flying a 777, just put yourself in their position. you re a pilot. i mean, how were you not going ....
