The Porter Family - Shelley, Michael and their two sons Maddox and Ashton - were shocked when they learned the advanced technology that saved their son s hand wasn t readily available at the QCH. Thanks to their significant fundraising efforts on Thursday, the QCH will now have a dedicated satellite site where advanced surgeons and technicians from the Australian Centre for Complex Integrated Surgical Solutions will operate. And, the centre will be named after the Porter s son Maddox. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene of a crash on wet roads in a residential estate in the Lockyer Valley on Wednesday evening. Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the single-vehicle accident on Barcoo Drive in the Plainland Crossing estate. A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a vehicle lost control at 5.10pm and crashed into a cement median strip. The crash caused cars to pile up on the road with the only entrance into the estate blocked. “It doesn’t look like there’s any injuries at this stage,” he said. A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the single occupant of the car was in the hands of paramedics. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only A PRIVATE school in the heart of the Lockyer Valleyâs booming growth area has submitted plans to the state government to expand and build new facilities to welcome primary school students for the first time. Faith Lutheran College has submitted a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation proposal for its Plainland school, which includes a new sporting precinct with a dressage field and arena and show jumping field. The secondary school was established in 1999 and moved to its 28 hectare site in 2000. Faithâs proposed sport and recreation precinct. Faith has grown substantially since then with development in the area ramping up around it in recent years. ....
