Popular playback singer KS Chithra was conferred Padma Vibhushan for her contribution to Indian film music. She won the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian honour in 2005. Apart from KS Chithra, legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam was honoured with Padma Vibhushan posthumously. KS Chithra and SP Balasubrahmanyam had sung several duet songs in multiple languages.
