Man dies at Pittsburg YMCA - The Morning Sun

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department, as well as first responders from the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS, were dispatched to the Pittsburg YMCA, located at 1100 N. Miles Ave., in Pittsburg, at approximately 7:50 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, in reference to a report of an unresponsive adult male located in the facility’s pool.

Pittsburg Fire Department hosts training exercise

PITTSBURG, Kan. The Pittsburg Fire Department hosted a training exercise at Station 2 on Monday. Firefighters from Parsons, Chanute, Iola, and Frontenac participated in a confined space rescue training. As part of the Kansas Task Force 4, the departments train together to combine their resources and expertise to conduct various rescue operations around the country, according to Pittsburg Fire Chief Taylor Cerne.
