Throughout December, the City of Pittsburg is collaborating with Root Coffeehouse to celebrate and showcase the creativity of its employees the “City Photogs.”
Initially appointed as the interim fire chief in September, after Chief Dennis O’Reily announced his retirement, Taylor Cerne (pronounced Chur-nee) officially became chief on Monday, Nov. 14. A 17-year veteran of the Pittsburg Fire Department, Cerne began his fire career at the age of 20 while working at a grain elevator in Labette County when his boss asked him to volunteer with the Hackberry-Bartlett Fire Department in 2001.
The City of Pittsburg has announced that Battalion Chief Taylor Cerne has been appointed to the position of fire chief for the Pittsburg Fire Department. Cerne will succeed former Fire Chief Dennis Reilly, who recently announced his retirement.
Domino’s in Pittsburg is joining forces with Pittsburg Fire Department, and Frontenac Fire Department to promote fire safety. On Oct. 19 and 20 from 7 to 9 p.m., anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives accompanied by a fire engine.
