You can imagine what the crash landing was like at this high-rise in manhattan. listen to what folks were saying. you could feel the building shake. wasn t until we got outside the building we understood it was actually a helicopter that hit the building. if you re a new yorker, you have a level of ptsd, right, from 9/11. so as soon as you hear an aircraft hit a building, i think my mind goes where every new yorker s mind goes. emergency personnel feeling that ptsd as they raced here. 11 minutes, that s how long the aircraft was up in the air before it crashed down here on the top of this building. a lot of questions this morning, including why did it cross into the heart of manhattan. did it have any communication with air traffic control at laguardia. what was the pilot thinking, an experienced pilot taking off in the weather we had here in new ....
It s not clear how many. and it sounds like it was only on the helicopter at this point. the fire broke out on the building when this helicopter either made a controlled crash landing or called an emergency and hit the roof and a fire broke out. it seems like the fire department was able to get it out quite quickly. you keep mentioning you re looking at perhaps a different video of the top of this building. i don t see what appears to be smoke. it looks like either gray rain or clouds up at the top of that building. it may be a little grayer coming off the top of that building, but that may be the natural rain coming off the top of that building. it s hard to see if there s anything left of this crash right now. do you know quickly, was there a helicopter a helicopter pad on top of the building? i just keep wondering was this pilot thinking i got to get this ....

The altitude, the direction, the speed, all of that vital information about that aircraft and the whole flight duration. but i think that these kinds of statements come out, and then everybody spins in a circle about what that means and what was the pilot thinking. and i m not certain it s accurate. and we know for sure that it s the truth. bill, let me ask you something, we talk about critical juncture in two days. and now they ve put a timeframe on the bluefin saying within a week they should know. are you getting a sense in any way since they re throwing this stuff out that perhaps they are closer to something that we they just aren t releasing that we don t know about? well, i think there s a couple of possibilities. that s certainly one of them. they may be developing information that they haven t publicly released that gives them more confidence that they re going to find something in the next few days. and the other thing is it s starting to get more and more expensive ....
Negative, pot tnot that they absolutely not that that that is a fact that handed. and then of course when they assume that that is what happened, then they assume why it happened. and what was the pilot thinking. well, he must have been avoiding radar or doing something he iel. all of that is conjecture and many are not convinced of those facts. not that it didn t happen, but they don t know for a fact that it did happen. and john along the lines of what you were saying, if we had better tracking of aircraft, maybe we wouldn t be wondering these things today. well, that s correct. and i think that is one of the things we need to look at and also the black box, the transparency in the cockpit. all those kind of things which are going to put lives in jeopardy in the future if we have a copy cat. and that s what we have to be careful of now i believe throughout the world, a copycat. ....
