Some people have classified the lewis and Clark Expedition and compared it to the odyssey of the greek tragedies, just like the civil war is sometimes seen as americas iliad, of that great epic battle. This great voyage will be quite significant and important. A few years ago, the Atlantic Monthly did a survey of the top 100 most influential figures in American History and lewis and clark make the list at 70.
