The Utility Company cut power throughout the state due to the threat of wildfires. In the north bay, close to 7,000 customers have been left in the dark. Though the strongest winds of the week have passed, temperatures are expected to reechl treach the upper 90s today. The north bay still faces dangerous fire weather conditions. The city of palo alto tells us it will do what it takes to make sure it doesnt happenicide a major el nino event occur this winter. Theyre preparing for rain in palo alto. The city says it plans to launch a cleanup effort in a couple weeks here, removing debris and trimming back dead branches. It will also launch a new website at the end of october to warn locals using sensors placed along the creek. Taking advantage of new technology, new hardware thats in the creek and upstream of the creek, looking at rain. We are giving people and Emergency Responders more advanced notice of when we believe flooding will occur. This creek flooded back in 2012 and in 1998. The county says it hopes preemptive measures will keep businesses and homes as dry as possible. We go through streams throughout the county to cleanup trash, maintain vegetation, maintain the banks, for erosion, and do what we can so that when the winter rains do come, ....
