Jockeys', trainers' titles settled, but Nunes/DaCosta rivalry still on


With the jockeys’ championship seemingly set to end in a stalemate, Dane Nelson and Anthony Thomas reporting ill and deadlocked on 84 winners apiece, Caymanas Park’s last bit of excitement for 2020 pits champion trainer Anthony Nunes against nemesis Wayne DaCosta in Sunday’s Jamaica Two Year Old Stakes.
Nunes, whose stakes lead puts him out of DaCosta’s reach to deny him a second trainers’ title, faces a challenge to find a replacement rider for Nelson aboard ante-post favourite, FURTHER AND BEYOND.
The champion trainer has four runners in the event.
