On March 6, 1945, the government led by Petru Groza, government of an alliance led by the communist party, which put Romania in the orbit of the USSR, was installed in Bucharest. Thus, educating the youth in the spirit of Marxist-Leninist ideology became the only national project and it was systematically implemented. Between 1945 and 1965, there was a period of post-war recovery and peace treaty reparations in Romania, so tourism and leisure were restricted. Starting in the mid-1960s, economic revival has also led to the revitalization of tourism. But the emergence of tourism under the tutelage of the youth organizations of the Communist Party, in which ideology and the acquisition of knowledge were combined, was a loan from the Soviet Union. It was about the so-called purpose tourism, so named to distinguish it from tourism in the West. Spre sfîrşitul lunii feburarie, în anul 1949, episcopul Grigorie Leu al Huşilor a fost chemat la Bucureşti, de autorităţile ecleziastice – în condiţiile în care se preconizase deja, prin noua Lege a Cultelor, desfiinţarea episcopiei pe care o păstorea. La întoarcere, s-a simţit rău şi, două zile mai tîrziu, a murit – lăsînd apropiaţilor săi suspiciunea că a fost otrăvit. Adevărul a ieşit acum la iveală – regimul de ocupaţie sovieto-comunist a folosit împotriva Bisericii Ortodoxe Române (pe care n-o putea desfiinţa şi întemniţa) nu numai propaganda ateistă, ci şi crima, prin care i-a înlăturat de la conducerea ei pe ierarhii incomozi regmului – adică, cei mai înalţi păstori ai ei. Episcopul Leu a fost ultimul de pe această listă, dar în cazul lui dovada e sigură.
