The rules announced Thursday affect 84 million workers nationwide. Combined with other rules, two-thirds of the nation’s workforce must either be vaccinated or face mandatory testing.
Half of the state’s workforce will be under a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for businesses over 100 people once federal rules are finalized. But it’s been a long wait, and a new coalition wants the White House to cancel the plan.

Starting May 15 at 9 a.m., those who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask when outside or inside.
Governor Whitmer made the announcement Friday, and says this is another step in putting the pandemic behind us.
“Throughout this entire pandemic, our north star has been data and science from the CDC, and our public health professionals and we are going to continue to listen and trust the experts,” said Governor Whitmer. “After months of getting out the damn vaccines, the data is clear.”
While it does bring us closer to normalcy, Public Information Officer with LMAS Health Department Kerry Ott is worried those who aren’t vaccinated will abuse the updated gatherings and mask order as they aren’t required to disclose their status.
