this problem. good morning. this is nbc 10 news today. i m rosemary connors. it s just after 6:00 on this sunday. plenty to get to. let s start with our weekend weather and the risk in the water. meteorologist krystal klei has the details for us. we have issued a first alert for tropical impacts due to hurricane jose. we re going to start this monday evening but last through early thursday morning. though we re starting to feel the impacts already today due to the fact we re in a high rip current risk. for the next several days straight, and that s the big deal. we are looking at high surf, high rip current risks, minor coastal flooding possible and some beach erosion especially those areas more prone to this occurring. we want to warn people these are not good days at the shore. let s look at our tropical satellite. this is hurricane jose. still a category 1 hurricane. a different location than yesterday. yesterday it was east of florida. now it s east of georgia a ....

keeping an eye on hurricane jose. good morning. chris. reporter: good morning, guys, it s warm and sticky this morning, temperatures in the 70s in some locations. the normal high for this time of the year is 78. we re showing 70. it s a warm morning around the delaware and the lehigh valleys. 68 to the north, 70s along the coast, millville at 64. we have patchy fog popping up just like what we saw yesterday at the same time. lancaster, 4 miles. millville looks like you re socked in pretty good, less than a laugh mile. jersey shore you re in the clear. satellite and radar we re starting out with a couple of clouds upstairs we have partly cloudy skies right now. during the course of the day similar to yesterday you ll see puffy cumulus clouds build and one or two areas a brief spotty shower. i don t think much rain will fall at all. most of us stay dry. sun and clouds from accuweather, spotty showers possible we re up to 84 degrees. when i come back in just a few minute ....
an make a turn to the right out to sea. right now every single tropical forecast model shows the exact same thing. it should pass by atlantic city 200 to 225 miles east of atlantic city by tuesday arch. it will bring some impacts to the jersey shore, but far enough to keep the majority of the storm out to sea and impact the canadian maritimes. as we look at the wind field you can see how lopsided the storm is. the tropical storm force winds extend outward to the east 150 miles. they are about 75 to 100 miles to the west. always the storm travels to the north, most of the winds stay out to sea. nonetheless this is what to expect down the shore. huge breakers up to ten feet that will cause dangerous rip currents and minor flooding tuesday morning and rain and wind down the jersey shore. the bulk of it will miss us out to sea. i ll be back and tell you what to expect for today and how long the warm sticky weather lasts. we have tropical storm maria lurking east of the leew ....
