Circle Media Group has established a major presence in the UK with the takeover of pan-European book printer CPI Group, in the latest industry consolidation play.
Andreou: acquired business was being sold for all the right reasons
Andreou was previously chief executive at Circle Media Group, and prior to that was chief operating officer at Polestar.
He has just acquired SME print firm Printstore, based in Kingston-upon-Thames. The deal completed last week.
Andreou said he became aware of the potential opportunity through his business network, with talks starting around Q3 last year.
“I’ve always loved the industry and have never fallen out of love with it. I looked at the business and liked it. It was being sold for all the right reasons,” he explained.
Walstead Group chief executive Paul Utting praised Camacho’s industry know-how and said he looked forward to working with him. “He is, without doubt, one of the most impressive figures in our industry and has extensive knowledge and experience of the Spanish and other European markets where we operate. We anticipate he will help us to continue developing our business in Spain,” Utting said.
Chairman Mark Scanlon said he believed the group was “building the best management team in the industry”.
“I m relishing the positive impact that José will have on our Spanish division and, potentially, on other parts of the group,” he said.
