Circle Media Group has established a major presence in the UK with the takeover of pan-European book printer CPI Group, in the latest industry consolidation play.

The company acquired earlier this year by Peter Andreou has brought digital cutting in-house with the purchase of a Duplo PFi Blade B2+.

Printstore commercial director Gez Clarke said: “We have many high-profile agencies and brands that we’re helping with their packaging solutions.
“Purchasing the PFi Blade B2+ allows us to utilise our in-house creative design facility and show our customers what we can achieve in a very short turnaround, and in some cases with the customer present offering a truly amazing quick turnaround of prototype packaging and design allowing faster products to market. Prior to the investment we would require a five-to-six-day turnaround.
Andreou: acquired business was being sold for all the right reasons
Andreou was previously chief executive at Circle Media Group, and prior to that was chief operating officer at Polestar.
He has just acquired SME print firm Printstore, based in Kingston-upon-Thames. The deal completed last week.
Andreou said he became aware of the potential opportunity through his business network, with talks starting around Q3 last year.
“I’ve always loved the industry and have never fallen out of love with it. I looked at the business and liked it. It was being sold for all the right reasons,” he explained.
