Selama pandemi covid-19, Bank Indonesia telah beberapa kali menurunkan suku bunga acuan, katanya.
Namun demikian, suku bunga kredit perbankan ternyata cenderung lebih rigid. Pada April 2021, selisih suku bunga acuan BI dengan suku bunga kredit konsumsi sebesar 7,37% , perbedaan dengan suku bunga kredit investasi sebesar 5,18% , dan perbedaan dengan suku bunga modal kerja adalah sebesar 5,53%. Selain itu, perubahan pergerakan suku bunga kredit perbankan sangat lambat.
Saat ini, ruang fiskal terbatas akibat dari tax ratio yang rendah dan aktivitas ekonomi menurun. Implikasinya dana untuk PEN ruangnya lebih terbatas. Stimulus fiskal untuk pandemi hanya berkisar 7,88% dari PDB, jauh di bawah peer countries.
