Boko Haram frees Chibok pastor

The pastor is presently in custody of the DSS undergoing debriefing.
Boko Haram has released a video of the abducted Pastor Yikura, threatening to execute him yesterday (Wednesday), March 3rd, if ransom was not paid.
In the video, Yikura pleaded with the government to negotiate his freedom, while an ISWAP militant stood behind him with a knife.
During the attack on Pemi village, militants kidnapped Yikura and six others, after killing at least 11 people.
The video released on Wednesday is the third recorded by Boko Haram in which Yikura pleads for government intervention. ....

Pastor Abducted by Boko Haram Regains Freedom

Pastor Bulus Yikura, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram on Christmas Eve was last night released by his abductors, THISDAY learnt.
The clergy had in a viral video released by suspected Boko Haram fighters, pleaded for his life after an ultimatum for his execution was given.
The House of Representatives had on Tuesday called on the federal government to secure his release from the terrorists.
A security source who spoke to THISDAY last night, said the pastor was dropped off in the evening at the outskirts of Maiduguri, the birthplace and epicentre of Boko Haram.
Another source within the Christian community in Borno State told THISDAY that his family members were contacted to pick him up from where he was dropped. ....

Sheikh Gumi, Buhari should negotiate with Boko Haram to release Pastor - Prophet Iginla

Prophet Joshua Iginla of the Champions Royal Assembly, has urged the Federal Government and Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, popular Islamic cleric to secure the release of abducted Pastor Bulus Yakuru.
Prophet Iginla said the federal government and Gumi should adopt the negotiation measure used in releasing abducted students to ensure pastor Bulus’ freedom.
The Abubakar Shekau-led faction of Boko Haram had abducted the pastor of Church of the Brethren (EYN) on 24 December, 2020, during an attack on Pemi village in Borno State.
Reacting, Prophet Iginla in a statement he sent to DAILY POST prayed for the release of Bulus.
He said: “Am a bit worried over the pastor that was captured in Borno and given 7 days ultimatum. ....
