A baby has died after being crushed by his mother in a horrific accident on a bus in Italy.
The unnamed mother was holding her tiny son in a carrier across her chest when the driver slammed on the brakes at a zebra crossing in the northern city of Genoa.
She fell forward, crushing the baby between her body and a metal pole in the vehicle - leaving the infant with serious head injuries.
He was rushed to hospital after the accident on October 28, but died at just two months old this week at Genoa s Gaslini hospital.
