A baby has died after being crushed by his mother in a horrific accident on a bus in Italy.
The unnamed mother was holding her tiny son in a carrier across her chest when the driver slammed on the brakes at a zebra crossing in the northern city of Genoa.
She fell forward, crushing the baby between her body and a metal pole in the vehicle - leaving the infant with serious head injuries.
He was rushed to hospital after the accident on October 28, but died at just two months old this week at Genoa's Gaslini hospital.
