The method is said to give a more precise quantative information on the pathogens present in one s body. PathShodh has received the license to manufacture the test for sale from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), after due diligence validation at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad, as per the requirements of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said a note by IISc on Tuesday. ....

It has a global ranking of 172, which is 20 slots behind its 2020 ranking. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore placed second with a global ranking of 185, one slot lower than the previous year s rank. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) placed third in India with a global ranking of 193, which was a fall from its previous year s ranking of 182. Next among the handful of Indian institutes to feature on the list was Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) ranked 275, a fall from its previous year s rank of 271. ....
Express News Service BENGALURU: Two Class 10 students of Greenwood High International School Sneha Raghavan and Shloka Ashok raised over Rs 2 lakh in 24 hours to donate 300 pulse oximeters to underprivileged sections. They will donate the oximeters to a Bengaluru-based NGO, Sampark, that works with vulnerable groups. The oximeters will be distributed to slum-dwellers in Bengaluru and rural women in Koppal in North Karnataka. The two designed posters and created a fundraiser page on the GiveIndia website for the project. They also reached out to various oximeter manufacturers to get a better deal. “I spoke to at least five manufacturers, but because of the shortage, some demanded high prices. We had set a goal to raise Rs 2 lakh, but we exceeded it by Rs 14,000. We increased the number of oximeters to 300,” Shloka said. ....
Express News Service BENGALURU: The education department has decided that children of Class 1-9 will not be asked to physically attend examinations. A continuous and comprehensive evaluation programme will be the deciding factor for promotion of children of Class 1-9, said Minister for Primary & Secondary Education Sureshkumar. Schools are expected to complete their result process by April 30. Summer vacations begin on May 1. In a communique the commissioner of public instruction Anbu Kumar said the evaluation and the result announcement must be a tool, only for assessing the learning capabilities of the children. Unachieved learning outcomes will be addressed as part of the bridge course during the commencement of next academic year, he added. ....
