family and coworkers noticed signs of physical abuse and now the police records are painting a dark picture of the month leading up to this weekend s fatal fire. reporter: frank salamone s family tell me it was a violent relationship that ended in tragedy. the investigators said it was salamone s girl, elizabeth scott that set the blaze that killed him. and they are not surprised. saying i love her. i don t want her to go to jail. reporter: his sister and brother-in-law saw repeated signs of physical abuse and head trauma. i uncovered a 2014 police report for and assault that scott beat salamone. but family members said it is one of few incidents that he actually reported. over time the beatings got worse and he got to the point that 85% of the domestic violence victims are women. experts tell me one in seven men experience abuse. and i think the community doesn t believe sometimes that a male can be a victim, especially if he s bigger. that is why male victims fail t
