cindy fitzgibbon. windy when we came in and just a drizzle, like a wind-blown kind of a raw september feel out there. we re still dealing with lingering effects of hermine. we ll have wind today. the sustained winds with hermine are up around 65 miles per hour right now as it moves to the west about 100 miles south of our coastline. so the impacts are lessening overall, but around it, we re talking about thesend and drizzle that are still pivoting through the area and kind of what you see is what you get today. this is going to be the story throughout the day, periods of mist and drizzle. the winds are gusting, but 20 to 30 miles an hour instead of winds gusting over 40 miles per hour that we had yesterday. and those winds even up on the north shore gusting to 26 miles per hour. also some fog if you re heading out the door. that may slow you down. visibility about a mile and a three miles in boston. look at these raw temperatures. upper 50 s worcester. lower 60s bos ....

saw yesterday afternoon. the vineyard gusting to 28. gusting to 21 on nantucket. i don t expect the winds to be as strong today as they were yesterday. see some peak gusts around 30ish as we go through the day. maybe 35 to 40. but the overall theme here of the next couple day, we still have a breeze. it s just not as strong as what we saw yesterday and last night. damp start to the day. kiddos need rain boots versus the new sneakers. got to keep them fresh. wait for a dry day. you will not find it the next le breeze through the day. temperatures running into the low to mid-70s. the risk of rip currents is high up and down the new england coastline. keep that in mind if you re watching some of the surf out there. 3 to 5 feet close to the coastline. pretty much breaking on the beaches. off-shore winds much bigger than that. more on that in the seven-day forecast ahead. sarah: with more schools starting today, you ll notice everybody. back to school, back the work. the r ....
