French prosecutors on Friday called for a 15-year prison sentence for one of two Russian men accused of beating an English supporter during Euro 2016, an attack that left the victim with brain injuries.
One prosecutor, Christophe Raffin, asked for the “legal maximum… between 14 and 15 years” for Pavel Kossov, who is accused of throwing the first punch at 55-year-old Andrew Bache.
Bache was injured in the violence that broke out before England played Russia in the southern French port city of Marseille on June 11, 2016.
The second Russian on trial in Aix-en-Provence, Mikhail Ivkine, is accused of throwing a chair at the victim, with prosecutors asking for a potential suspended sentence of up to five years. ....

Two Russian men were on Monday sentenced to jail terms of three years and 10 years for a savage attack on an English football supporter at the 2016 European championships.
Mikhail Ivkin received a three-year term and Pavel Kossov the longer sentence for their role in the beating that left Briton Andrew Bache with a brain injury.
Kossov, 34, was accused of throwing the first punch at 55-year-old Bache in the violence that broke out before England played Russia in the southern French port city of Marseille on June 11, 2016. ....

Two Russian men have been jailed for attacking an England supporter who was severely injured when violence broke out at the Euro 2016 football contest.
Andrew Bache, 55, from Portsmouth, was left disabled following the attack in Marseille, France, his lawyer said.
Pavel Kossov, 34, was jailed for 10 years and Mikhail Ivkine, 34, for three years by the court in Aix-en-Provence.
Hours of street fights broke out at Marseille s old port following the England-Russia match on 11 June 2016.

Teacher Mikhail Ivkin received a three-year term, while truck driver Pavel Kossov was handed 10 years after they were convicted of  gang violence with weapons, leading to permanent infirmity for the attack on Portsmouth man Andrew Bache, in Marseille.
The 55-year-old, required emergency first aid at the scene and was left in a coma after receiving three or four blows to the head as violence swept the city of Marseille during the European championships in June 2016. Violence gripped the city before and after the two nations met on June 11, 2016. ....
