2 Russians convicted of attack on man at Euro 2016 in France by The Associated Press Last Updated Dec 14, 2020 at 8:58 am EDT PARIS Two Russians on Monday were convicted of permanently disabling a British soccer supporter in southern France during the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. Spartak Moscow fan Pavel Kosov was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Mikhail Ivkin was given a three-year sentence. They had been on trial in the southern French port city of Marseille accused of “gang violence with weapons, leading to permanent infirmity.” They had been held in prison in France since March 2018. The pair attacked Andrew Bache, 55, during the European Football Championships in June 2016. His son Harry represented him in court and faced his father’s alleged assailants. Andrew’s lawyer, Olivier Rosato, said that the attack left his client severely disabled and he can no longer bear to return to Marseille. ....
