Danielle Hoyle of Paton Churdan Girls Track Punches Her Ticket to State Track in Shot Put and Discus at Thursday s Qualifying Track Meet | CBC Online

  Paton Churdan traveled to Madrid for their Class 1A state track qualifying meet. Danielle Hoyel gave the Rockets two tickets to the state track meet. Hoyle won the shot put with a throw of 40-03.00 and the discus with a throw of 133.07.00. Hoyle will compete at state in the throwing events on Thursday and Friday. Shot put will begin at 3:30 pm on Thursday, and discus at 3:00 pm on Friday.    

It Was A Tough Night Friday With All 3 Girls Teams Ending Their Seasons

Audubon at Newell Fonda- Class 1A Region 2 Newell Fonda: 78 Audubon: 36     The Audubon Wheelers had a tough match up against the Newell Fonda Mustangs Friday night, where they would fall to the defending state champions. The Wheelers would begin the contest pretty well scoring the first four points and going toe to toe with the Mustangs. At one point, both teams would be tied up at 11 points in the first quarter with Aleah Hermensen and Jaci Christensen leading the charge. But, the Mustangs were able to close out the first quarter with a 7-0 run to lead it 18-11. The Mustangs would take charge in the second quarter and play the aggressive, in your face style of basketball that most teams have come to know. The Mustangs would score 22 points in the second quarter and cause many Wheeler turnovers to take a 40-21 lead at halftime.

CRB Girls Rally in 4th, Glidden Ralston Girls Fall on the Road on Monday

The run to start the 4 th quarter answered a spurt at the end of the 3 rd that had Grand View Christian up by 5. The Thunder scored the final 6 points of the 3 rd quarter on back to back 3’s to rally after Coon Rapids Bayard led by 6 at half. Brynn Bass was huge in the 1 st half with 3-3’s and 14 points. She helped spark the 4 th quarter rally after Miranda Garcia blocked a 3 point shot and Alaya Betts rebounded and kicked it ahead to Bass who spun between a pair of defenders for the layup. Bass then blocked a 3 point attempt and Miranda Garcia pulled down the rebound which led to a 3 from Mia Leighty who hit back to back 3’s. Garcia was huge on defense, taking a pair of charges.

Tough 3rd Quarter Derails Glidden Ralston Boys on Monday
