Sabah approves funds of RM746,000 to address drug and social problems | Daily Express Online

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor (pix) has approved funds totaling RM746,000 for addressing drug abuse and social problems in the state.
He said RM500,000 will be allocated to the National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) to carry out an integrated programme to tackle drug addiction and social ills in high-risk areas and build a new rehabilitation centre (Puspen) on a 12-hectare site in Tawau.
Currently, Sabah has one Puspen in Papar, which can accommodate up to 300 people.

COVID-19 | The country reported 2,464 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, and seven deaths.
This is the lowest number of new cases reported nationwide since Jan 11 (2,232) - two days before the second movement control order (MCO) was implemented.
However, it must be noted that the Health Ministry had reduced testing on Jan 13, including not testing asymptomatic close contacts.
This was due to the strain the Health Ministry was facing due to a high number of Covid-19 cases.
The number of patients discharged today was 4,525, the highest on record. ....

KENINGAU: Flash floods from several rivers due to heavy rains since 4pm on Wednesday have been described as the worst in recent memory with some houses faced with up to one metre of water.

 Some roads in Patikang Ulu, Kg Kauran and other areas have become impassable and dangerous to vehicles.
 The office of the Liawan Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM) hopes that the flood problem can be solved thoroughly, especially in risky areas.
 A spokesman for the Unit also asked the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) to expedite the report to the Government so as to apply for allocations. ....
