Covid-19 (Feb 14): 2,464 new cases, lowest since Jan 11 Published Modified14 Feb 2021, 11:29 am A - COVID-19 | The country reported 2,464 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon today, and seven deaths. This is the lowest number of new cases reported nationwide since Jan 11 (2,232) - two days before the second movement control order (MCO) was implemented. However, it must be noted that the Health Ministry had reduced testing on Jan 13, including not testing asymptomatic close contacts. This was due to the strain the Health Ministry was facing due to a high number of Covid-19 cases. The number of patients discharged today was 4,525, the highest on record. ....

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,692 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 186,970. In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 238,721. ADVERTISEMENT There are 50,894 active cases, with 305 patients being treated in intensive care and 139 requiring respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the 12 deaths take the death toll to 857. The new cases today involved 3,843 local infections and four imported cases. Local cases comprised 2,569 Malaysians and 1,274 foreigners. Selangor detected the highest number of cases again with 1,481. Other states and federal territories that recorded three-digit infections comprised Johor (585), Kuala Lumpur (402), Melaka (329), Sabah (233), Penang (211), Sarawak (185 ....
