Bernice L. Bryerton, 79, of Lock Haven, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
Born in Lock Haven on Sept. 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Wilda Braucht Kerstetter.
Bernice was employed at multiple local businesses over her working years. She was first employed at Bloomsburg Mills for several years. Upon their closing, she then went to work for Widman’s Drug Store, American Rescue Workers and Newhaven Industries before her last employment in food service at Lock Haven University’s Bentley Hall.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lock Haven for many years before she joined her daughter in membership at Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church of Mill Hall. Faith was very important to Bernice, which was reflected in having read her Bible in its entirety multiple times and her devotion to her daily Bible readings.
Ernest W. Force, Jr.
Ernest W. Force, Jr. (Ernie) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 9, 2021.
Ernie was born in Philipsburg on May 25, 1937. He was the son of the late Ernest and Elsie (Lapps) Force. He grew up in Grassflat where, he stated many times, he had a very enjoyable childhood. Baseball in the summer, ice skating and skiing in the winter, fishing and hunting all the time, for what more could a kid ask.
After graduating from Cooper Twp. High School in 1955, he went to work at Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna, N.Y. where he decided the Buffalo winters were too much for him and he returned to Clarence, Pa. to the J. H. France Refractories.
