It is the greatest shock of our life. Nobody envisaged that such a thing would happen, not even on a day when he was in the middle of a peace-making meeting. The police came and gruesomely murdered him, just like that. If you are asked to invite someone or arrest someone, the normal procedure is to invite the person and if the person refuses to come, then you can go for arrest. NHIS undergoing reforms to fast track attainment of universal health coverage
There are indications that the ongoing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the non-passage of the amended National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Act have further slowed down the uptake of health insurance packages and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the country.
In fact, The Guardian investigation revealed that more than 170 million Nigerians are still paying out-of-pocket to access medical services and out-of-pocket payments can make households and individuals incur catastrophic health expenditure and this can exacerbate the level of poverty.

Critics say the NHIS has remained nonfunctional and the coverage rate has dropped from over 10 per cent (5.6 million Nigerians) ten years ago to just barely 1.72 per cent (one million Nigerians) today. ....

There is palpable fear in Oruku community, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, as the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Emmanuel Mba, was allegedly killed by men suspected to be policemen from Force Headquarters, Abuja.
It was gathered that many houses, cars and other property were also razed in the community in an orgy of violence that started Saturday and continued yesterday.
One of the villagers revealed that the fracas started on Saturday when the now-deceased traditional ruler was presiding over the town meeting and a group of uniformed men believed to be policemen from Abuja stormed the meeting. ....

Oruku community in Nkanu East Council, Enugu State, is under tension following the killing of its traditional ruler, Igwe Emmanuel Mba, by armed men who claimed to be ‘policemen’ from the Force Headquarters (FHQ), Abuja.
Led by one Inspector Danladi, the assailants also took away one Mr. Agozie Ani from the Oruku Townhall where the deceased monarch was addressing the natives.
According to a witness, the armed men invaded the meeting venue in a sport utility vehicle and Toyota Sienna about 2p.m. on December 26, 2020 and sought to see the royal father.
They were reportedly led to the town hall by three natives identified as Emmanuel Nwobodo, Onyema Edeh and Sunday Onunze. ....
