JERSEYVILLE A $450,000 grant from the state will bring a major renovation of the Susnig Center in Jerseyville closer to reality.
Organizers have been working for more than a year to raise the money needed to update the complex at 401 Mound St. The center’s existing gym floor will be replaced, and bleachers and restrooms will be brought into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

SPRINGFIELD Projects in Wood River and Jerseyville will share in more than $24.9 million in state grant funding announced By Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
Wood River will receive $2.5 million to help build a new recreation center. Jerseyville will receive to help upgrade the Susnig Center.
“Projects being funded through the PARC grants are important investments that will improve communities and allow Illinoisans an opportunity to enjoy their local parks, forest preserves, and recreation facilities,” said Pritzker.
The money will be help local governments construct, renovate and improve buildings or purchase land to be used for public access and recreation. The funding is through the Park and Recreational Facility Construction Act (PARC) grant program, part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program.
