In the real estate space, one should stick to marquee names with good execution capabilities and sound track-record, after sharp run up in last year, says Paras Bothra.
Paras Bothra says: “The most important thing at present is picking up companies at the right value and with a sectoral tailwind. They are structural in nature and that will help us a lot in mitigating any kind of risk which comes up in future with regards to volatility in the market. So, that is the primary thought process. ”
"While RBI is expected to hold rates, the global factors like the rising bond yields and higher interest rates have led to negativity in the banking space," said Andrew Holland, CEO-Avendus Capital Alternate Strategies. "The support levels for the banking index are hovering over at 42,000 levels." The Nifty Bank index closed at 43,964.
On Thursday, shares of Cochin Shipyard soared 20% to an all-time high of ₹1,146. Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders shares jumped by 9.51%. Indian Railway Finance Corporation, KIOCL, Power Finance Corp, REC rose by 4-7%. The BSE PSU Index gained 1.5% and the benchmark Sensex advanced 0.6%.
Market cap of BSE-listed firms rose to Rs 271.08 lakh crore on August 3 against Rs 257.55 lakh crore on July 26, 2022, translating into a gain of Rs 13.53 lakh crore during the period.
