Addressing a press conference on Sunday Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, The systematic destruction of the Indian economy has forced a deceleration. Even before the pandemic, GDP Growth fell from 8.1 per cent in FY2015-16 to 4.2 per cent in FY2019-20. The Indian economy has registered a recession for the first time since Independence. The GDP growth was minus 24.1 per cent in Q1 of FY2020-21 and minus 7.5 per cent in Q2 of FY2020-21. The overall GDP growth for FY2020-21 is expected to be close to minus 8 per cent.

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack at Centre over the Chinese build-up in the Depsang region near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
Citing a news report that showed night satellite images of the Chinese build-up , Gandhi tweeted, Mark my words, our land in Depsang is gone.
“.DBO is vulnerable. GOI’s cowardice will lead to tragic consequences in the future,” the Congress leader tweeted as he referred to the Daulet Beg Oldie area in Ladakh.
The Galwan valley clash took place on June 15 last year when Indian troops led by Colonel Babu took on the Chinese troops near the patrolling point 14 area. India lost 20 troops in the fiercest clash between the two sides in a long time while the Chinese also suffered significant casualties.
Territorial integrity is compromised, says Congress
“Can the prime minister and the defence minister explain their complete and total failure in protecting India’s territorial integrity,” Surjewala asked at a press conference.

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Thursday accused the central government of compromising national security and India’s territorial integrity and alleged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has tried to “mislead” on the issue.
Congress chief spokesperson and general secretary Randeep Surjewala alleged the government was disengaging its troops in Ladakh without giving an assurance as to when would there be status quo ante as on April 2020 when unprovoked Chinese incursions into India’s territory and military build-up started.
