Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 2 (EMN): 20-year-old Teresa N Varte was crowned Miss Kut 2022 during a day-long beauty pageant held at Peace ground Tuibuong, 65 km south of Imphal in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on Nov. 1. 18 beautiful girls belonging to different communities participated at the Miss Kut 2022 beauty contest as part of the state level Kut festival, the annual premiere and post-harvest festival of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo tribes in Manipur. Teresa N Varte, a BA first year student from Rayburn College Teresa who is a resident of Churachandpur’s Renkai locality went home richer with a cheque of INR 1 lakh and gift hampers by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Yumnam Khemchand. The MLAs Th Arunkumar and Kimneo Haokip Hangshing presented the prizes along with gift hampers to Vahichong Haokip and Rost Niangbakmawi who were crowned first and second runners-up respectively.
