Our Correspondent Imphal, Nov. 23 (EMN): The stage is all set for Churachandpur edition of Manipur Sangai Festival (MSF) 2022 at three different venues in Churachandpur, the southern district of Manipur, wherein Bollywood actress and Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta will walk the ramp for the well known fashion designer Robert Naorem. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh accompanied by Industries minister Nemcha Kipgen along with five MLAs from Churachandpur district which border Myanmar and Mizoram in south, will inaugurate the Churachandpur edition of MSF 2022 celebration at Geljang Resort, Khuga in the morning and later attend the celebration at Southern Manipur Cultural Centre (SMCC), Behiang, a village near the Indo-Myanmar international border. The three-day Sangai Festival 2022 celebration in Churachandpur will showcase the rich cultural flavour, blend of traditional and western music, exotic food and cuisines, adventure sports, indigenous games, art works, etc, of the district.
AS many as 36 communities are settled in Manipur. Each has its own unique festival, making the state a land of festivals. The celebrations continue throughout the year. Interestingly, some Hindu festivals, too, have been transformed into a slightly different version by the Hindus of the state.
