I’ve had many people ask, “Where can I bring my old, tattered flags?”  Burley American Legion, Post 17, has an answer to that question.  We have two donation boxes, one located at Walmart under the veteran photos and the other just inside the “in” door (by the candy machine) at Smiths.  You now have a place to drop off your old, unserviceable flags and there’s a flyer available with information on how to purchase new flags.  The community let us know we need to have some type of flag collection bins in our town.  As I thought about some sort of donation box, I started asking if anyone had an old mailbox or newspaper box that would be willing to donate to The American Legion for a flag collection box.  Sonya Moon reached out to me and let me know that The TimesNews in Twin Falls might have one or two.  I contacted them and they had two boxes to donate.
