Of Milwaukee County executive chris abele. The fence was first removed yesterday morning. Then replaced under the order of Milwaukee County sheriff, david clarke. 3 the fence has been in place for about three weeks now. After a deadly officerinvolved shooting sparked two nights of unrest. Unrest. But today the county executive said its time to move forward. Forward. Were right now working to get down the fence as fast as we can and were returning the park to normal hours, operating doing what weve been trying to do for awhile which is give the park back to the community. Community. 3 after sheriffs deputies turned up to replace the fence yesterday. Abeles office called for a temporary restraining order against clarke. A judge sided with abele enforcing normal hours at sherman park. But the fence remained overnight. Then around 12 30 this afternoon parks employees removed ....
Wrestling away the posts. At first the parks team was working alone, something is going on over here. then reinforced by the department of corrections. Its been and up and down weekend for sherman park. The county executive had the fence removed sunday morning. The sheriff ordered it put back up a few hours later. the sheriff is not above the law. theres nothing in the record serving any public good. it took a rare sunday Evening Court hearing and judges ruling the sheriff is not above the law. to order the fence down once and for all. it feels real good. everybody gets to play and be safe and have a good time on labor day. cover with video it feels much better. The fence is gone, regular park hours have been reinstated and as you can see behind me plenty of people are enjoying the space.
