Pressure mounts on MP Wright; PSOJ, JCC jointly call for resignation

The influential Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) have both called for the resignation of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Westmoreland, the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) George Wright.
The call is relative to an incident in which a man, believed to have been Wright, was earlier this month caught on a video that has gone viral, beating a woman almost to a pulp with both his fists and a stool.
Despite the legal/criminal proceedings being halted, both the JCC and the PSOJ are adamant that Wright is not of the calibre that belongs in the nation’s Parliament. ....
